A traditional country pub and restaurant, we serve locally produced food, prepared by our talented chef in our coal fired oven, along with a range of traditional ales, beer and cider. Set in a picturesque village on the banks of the River Trent near Scunthorpe, the pub has a firmly established reputation, originally built in 1700s. Our bar has the ambiance of an old country house with comfy seats, roaring fires, wooden floors and low beams, creating an intimate and cosy feel.
We would like to inform regulars, and those planning to travel, that our restauraunt is currently closed. At present we are unable to provide a date for reopening, but this website will be updated as soon as we know more. In the meantime, our online booking system is closed for reservations. Our mission here at the Dog & Gun pub and restaurant is to provide food that is fresh, local and traceable, supporting local farmers and producers, and offering you a hearty meal that's both local and tasty. We buy our meat from local farmers and reputable butchers to ensure that we offer only the best. All of our fresh fruit and vegetables come from a local, family run business. We pride ourselves on using fresh and sustainable seafood too, collected direct from Grimsby and never frozen. Spoilt for choice in this part of the world, we take great and attention to ensure that we serve the best local produce in our bar and restaurant. We even brew our own ale!
